Privacy Policy

DevToolPal Passport Photo (passport.devtoolpal.com, "we", "the site") is a free passport and ID photo tool. Our principle is simple: your photos are processed only on your own device and are never uploaded to us or to anyone else.
Your photos and camera
- The photo you choose or take is read by your browser locally. Face detection (Google MediaPipe) and background removal (MODNet) run on your device as WebAssembly; no server is involved.
- When you use the camera, the video is shown and analysed inside the page only. It is never recorded or sent anywhere, and the camera stops when you close the camera view.
- The photos and print sheets you create are saved only where you download them. We keep no copies; the photo is gone from the page when you close or reload it.
- The MediaPipe library has built-in usage reporting to Google. We block those requests in our code and our Content Security Policy does not allow connections to Google.
Files we download to your browser
To process photos locally, the page downloads AI models and WebAssembly runtimes from this site (about 25 MB the first time, then cached by your browser). They are public static files; downloading them sends none of your photos or personal data.
Local storage
We store only the last document type you picked (so it is preselected next time) and your analytics cookie choice in your browser's localStorage. We set no cookies ourselves. You can clear this data in your browser settings at any time.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to count visits (pages viewed, browser type, approximate region) and to see how features are used, so we can improve the site. Feature events record only the action, for example which document was chosen, whether a photo was processed, which checks failed and which file format was downloaded. They never include your photos, face data or anything you type. Google Analytics sets cookies; in the EEA, UK and Switzerland it does so only after you click "Accept" in the cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of the page.
Hosting
The site is hosted on Cloudflare. As with any website, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver pages and protect against abuse, under Cloudflare's privacy policy. We do not keep access logs ourselves.
Feedback form
If you send feedback with the form on the About page, what you write (and the email address, if you choose to give one) is forwarded to our inbox by the Web3Forms service and used only to reply and improve the site.
Children
We collect no personal information from anyone, including children. Photos of minors should be made by a parent or guardian.
Changes
If the way we handle data changes (for example if we add paid features), we will update this page and the date above first.
Contact
For any privacy question, contact us with the form on the About page.
